Post Menopausal Bleeding

Introduction

Post Menopausal Bleeding (PMB) is defined as unexplained vaginal bleeding more than 12 months after menstruation has stopped because of the menopause.(1)

Red Flags

Any woman aged 55 years and over with post menopausal bleeding should be referred via 2WW using the gynaecology cancer referral proforma.

Any woman aged under 55 years with post menopausal bleeding should also be considered for referral via the 2WW pathway. (2)
