Overview

Patients with sports injuries will often present either at A and E or in general practice.

The Fracture Clinics or Acute Knee and Shoulder Clinics (NBT) may be appropriate for some patients with acute injuries

For more chronic injuries other options for referral include:

Community physiotherapy

One care physio - one stop assessment for acute soft tissue injuries by local physiotherapists. Appointments can be booked directly by the practice team.

MSK eReferral  - The local MSK teams (MATS, MIS, CATS) can triage and may be able to refer to appropriate NHS clinics. Referrals to NHS sports medicine clinics outside of BNSSG will still need to be referred via this service.

Sports Medicine Clinic at the University of Bristol - this is a non-NHS service but their physios can provide free five to ten minute consultations.
