Spirometry for diagnostic or monitoring purposes is now widely available in primary care and should normally be undertaken in practice. If this is not possible or further respiratory physiology testing is required then the acute trusts offer access to spirometry - see section below on how to refer.

There are useful instructions on how to perform spirometry and on interpretation of results on the website.

The NBT Respiratory Physiology webpage has some useful information and patient information leaflets.

Information below is currently being updated and therefore may not be correct at this time (15.10.18)

There is no longer a drop in service for spirometry at UHB and patients will be seen by appointment only via eRS referral (Respiratory NOS)

Telephone: Lung function appointments 0117 3422616

Referrals should be sent via eReferral and will be triaged by a Referral Assessment Service (RAS).
